Silver Edition of the Classical Open-Air for the 25th Anniversary of Klosterpark Harsefeld
Klosterpark Harsefeld was developed 25 years ago as the central event location for the municipality and opened in 2001. The Classical Open-Air has been one of the fixed annual highlights ever since and is also a symbol of the cultural enhancement the park has brought to Harsefeld. The Silver Edition celebrates this 25th anniversary with special splendor.
Klosterpark Harsefeld is one of the most beautiful event areas in the Stade district. With old trees, remnants of the historic monastery complex, and spacious meadows, it offers an atmospheric open-air backdrop. Several events take place here throughout the year — from the Beer Magic in summer to the Autumn Magic in September and the Winter Magic in December.
Open-air classical concerts are a genre in themselves with a special atmosphere. Unlike in a concert hall, music, nature, evening light, and picnic ambiance combine to create a holistic experience. Concerts usually begin in the late evening, as the summer heat subsides and the light softens. The audience sits on blankets or chairs brought from home.
The exact program for the Silver Edition will be published by the municipality of Harsefeld in Spring 2026. Classical works from the orchestral and choral repertoire are expected — from Beethoven and Mozart to Mendelssohn and Brahms, possibly also romantic and late romantic works. Professional ensembles from the region or invited top orchestras will perform.
Starting at 7 PM, the concert makes optimal use of the long May evenings. At sunset and in the fading twilight, the music in Klosterpark unfolds a special magic. The pre-concert area with catering and the opportunity to picnic in the park is part of the traditional concert choreography.
The designation "Silver Edition" refers to the 25th anniversary (modeled after a silver wedding anniversary) and positions the concert as a special tribute to the park's and concert's history to date.
The Silver Edition commemorates 25 years of Klosterpark as an event venue and particularly the Classical Open-Air as a fixed annual highlight.
Works and performers will be published by the municipality of Harsefeld.
