Largest Volksfest on the middle Nahe and Hahnenbach with over 40 showmen
Kirn is located on the middle Nahe river and the Hahnenbach stream, nestled in a scenic low mountain range region. The town has a historically grown city center, an industrial tradition (especially in the leather sector), and is the center of the Kirner Land region. The Kirner Kerb is one of the important Volksfeste in the region.
With over 40 showmen and stalls, the Kirner Kerb is one of the largest Volksfeste in the middle Nahe region. The Kyrau festival grounds offer a spacious area where the rides, the large festival tent, and the stalls are accommodated. The Kerb attracts visitors from the entire Nahe Valley as well as from the neighboring Hunsrück.
The festive opening is marked by the opening fireworks on Friday evening, which officially kick off the Kerb. The grand finale is provided by the closing fireworks on Monday. Both fireworks displays are ignited over the festival grounds and are visible from afar.
The traditional Frühschoppen on Kerb Monday is one of the particularly popular events. With Palatinate and Nahe specialties, beer, and wine, regulars, clubs, and guests meet, often accompanied by a brass band. The Frühschoppen marks the transition from the intensive festival weekend to the quieter closing phase.
A new feature in 2026 is the new festival host Nickels from Frankenthal, who will be responsible for catering in the festival tent. With many years of experience in the festival tent business, Nickels brings fresh ideas and new accents to the Kirner Kerb tradition.
The 2026 edition continues the Kirner tradition and brings a breath of fresh air to the festival tent program with the new festival host Nickels from Frankenthal. Four days of festivities in the middle Nahe region with one of the largest Volksfeste in the area.
The exact program for 2026, including band performances in the tent, will be published by the City of Kirn and host Nickels in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
