Westerwald Village Kirmes

The Kirmes Montabaur-Wirzenborn is one of the traditional summer kirmes of the Montabaur administrative district and is anchored in the official Kirmes calendar 2026 of the VG Montabaur (as of October 2025). It follows a long line of Westerwald kirmes dates that take place every weekend of the summer in a different municipality of the administrative district, shaping rural festival life.

Three Days (Friday to Sunday) of Programme

From 17 April 2026 to 19 April 2026, the kirmes offers a classic Westerwald programme of festival tent opening with keg tapping, dance and disco evenings, Frühschoppen on Sunday with participation from local associations, and a family afternoon with coffee, cake, and a carousel. Food stalls, sweet shops, and drinks stands complement the festival tent events.

Association and Village Life

The local associations and the municipal council are the organisers of the kirmes, pooling their efforts for the joint summer festival. The fire brigade, sports clubs, music clubs, carnival societies, and youth groups participate in the programme and catering. This makes the kirmes more than just an amusement park: it is an expression of a vibrant village community and lived tradition in the Westerwald.
