Ankum — Center of the Artland
The municipality of Ankum is located in the northeastern Osnabrück district and belongs to the Samtgemeinde Bersenbrück. With its growing retail sector, characteristic market square, and vibrant club life, Ankum is an attractive center in the Artland. The Kirmes is one of the most important Volksfeste in the municipality and a firm fixture in the annual calendar.
Showman Tradition in the Town Center
The Kirmes has been held in the town center for generations. Carousels, children's carousels, food and sweet stalls, as well as throwing and shooting booths form the classic framework of the festival grounds. Families will also find children's rides, game stations, and catering with local specialties. The evening Kirmes illumination provides the typical Volksfest flair that many guests from the northern district appreciate.
