District Festival on Historic Ground

Magdeburg-Reform is a district in the south of the state capital, developed since the 1930s around the former military training area and Fort II – a fortification from the 19th-century Magdeburg city defenses. Today, Fort II is a green island between residential areas and allotment gardens, and once a year, the venue for the children's festival, organized by the Magdeburg-Reform Citizens' Association e.V.

Three Hours of Concentrated Program

The festival runs from 3 PM to 6 PM – a clearly defined family afternoon. Several bouncy castles, game stalls, interactive stations, a magic show, dance workshops, and of course the children's stage with Pumpelstrumpf, a well-known children's singer-songwriter in the region. Food and drinks available: sausages, fries, ice cream, lemonade, and coffee. Free admission.

Magdeburg-Reform in a Landscape Protection Area

Fort II is located between Kirschweg and Buntenweg, green and quiet – a rather unknown venue for Magdeburg's district culture. Those arriving from Magdeburg city center or from outside can usefully combine the children's festival with a walk through the adjacent Sülzeniederung landscape protection area.
