Wittmund transforms into a children's paradise for a day – bouncy castles and hands-on activities
The Kinderfest Happy Day is a family event specifically aimed at children and their parents. Embedded within the traditional Johannimarkt, a market (Krammarkt) in Wittmund's city center, the children's festival ensures that even the youngest visitors experience an unforgettable day. The event is expected to take place in June 2026 – the exact date will be published by the organizer in spring; historically, the second weekend in June is the typical date.
An extensive bouncy castle landscape is created on Wittmund's Kirchplatz – a highlight for the little ones. Several different bouncy castles with various themes and difficulty levels await the children. From classic bouncing fun to slides and climbing elements, everything is there to make children's hearts beat faster.
Parallel to the bouncy castle landscape, the pedestrian zone offers a wide range of interactive activities: craft stations, game courses, hands-on workshops with local clubs and initiatives. The city center thus becomes a large play and learning area that fosters encounters in a playful way.
The Johannimarkt is a historic market (Krammarkt) in Wittmund, with traditions reaching far back. With fairground attractions, regional stalls, culinary offerings, and carousels, the market becomes an experiential backdrop. The combination of the market and the children's festival creates a rich family program that appeals to all generations.
The event is accessible free of charge. Individual activities such as carousel rides or market stalls are subject to a fee, but the basic program (bouncy castles, hands-on activities) is free. This makes the Kinderfest Happy Day a deliberately accessible offer for all families in the region.
The combination of a market and a children's festival has been a proven formula in Wittmund for years. While adults enjoy the market offerings, children are entertained in their own world of bouncy castles and hands-on activities.
The exact program details will be published by the organizer in advance of the event.
