City Centre as a Children's Festival Ground

The "Fun & Action in the City" children's festival is an event that transforms Kaiserslautern's city centre into a large children's festival ground for one day. Several central squares and streets will be used, with different activities at each station. Children can move from station to station, accompanied by their parents or waiting at the food stalls. This decentralized format is optimally adapted to the city centre's topography.

Circus Pepperoni and World Traveller Thommy

Circus Pepperoni is a family circus with a children's programme – acrobatics, juggling, clowning, and hands-on activities for the youngest visitors. World Traveller Thommy is an interactive storyteller who captivates children with stories from around the world. These two highlights are the central programme points, which are particularly emphasized within the colourful stations.

Music, Shows, Creative Activities, Games, and Sports

The programme spectrum is broad: music (children's bands, singer-songwriters), shows (magic, dance, theatre), creative activities (crafting, painting, clay modelling), games (classic movement games, competitions), and sports activities (movement courses, sports clubs to try out). This diversity ensures that children of different ages and interests will find suitable activities.

Free and in the Anniversary Year

The festival is free – a programme policy of the City of Kaiserslautern, which sees the children's festival as a family offering for all citizens. In 2026, the date falls within the intensive phase of the 750th city anniversary year and is part of the May programme, jointly supported by the city, Kultursommer, and local clubs.
