New Year's Concert "Horns on fire" by Kleinkunst in Manderscheid e.V. at the Kurhaus on January 25, 2026
Manderscheid in the Vulkaneifel region is famous for its two castles — Niederburg and Oberburg — and for its spa town tradition. The Kurhaus Manderscheid forms the cultural center of the small town and is a regular venue for concerts, readings, and theater. On January 25, 2026, KiM will set a festive accent with the New Year's Concert "Horns on fire" to kick off the Manderscheid cultural season 2026.
For years, the KiM association has established itself as Manderscheid's central cultural carrier. Its program includes concerts, cabaret, readings, comedy, and multidisciplinary formats, often featuring nationally known artists, but always in the intimate, personal atmosphere of the Kurhaus. The New Year's Concert is a fixed part of the association's year and symbolically opens the concert series of the season.
The program title "Horns on fire" suggests a powerful brass focus: horn quartets, brass ensembles, or classical formations with a distinct brass section typically characterize such programs. The mix of classical and folk music makes the evening accessible — for concertgoers as well as for guests attending a classical concert for the first time. Waltzes, polkas, marches, and classical concert interludes are combined with virtuosic brass solos.
The New Year's Concert is often the first major cultural highlight of the year for Manderscheid and the surrounding Eifel communities. The short journey from Wittlich, Daun, Gerolstein, and Trier makes the concert a regional attraction. Those who wish to combine the evening with a stay will find numerous accommodation options in and around Manderscheid — the castle town is a worthwhile destination even in winter.
The New Year's Concert is designed as an approximately two-hour Sunday concert with an intermission. Classical concert architecture: first part, intermission with refreshments, second part, and encores.
The exact program and participating ensembles will be announced by KiM in good time before the concert date via kleinkunst-in-manderscheid.de.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven benchmarks of previous years:
