Season opening in the Experience Village with new attractions
When the strawberry season officially begins on May 1st at the KARLS Experience Village in Rövershagen, the most important half-year for the family farm in the Rostock district also starts. Until the end of September, the grounds directly on the B105 between Rostock and the Baltic Sea transform into a bright red summer realm centered around the small red fruit that has made Karls the best-known strawberry producer in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for decades.
Karls opens each season with a batch of new attractions — in 2026, there will be 19. The XXL Karlchen at the entrance, the decorated flatbed trailers, the farmyards adorned with colorful pennants, and the artisanal shop windows embody the promise: Here, work is done with fun, craftsmanship, and honest agriculture. Pick-your-own strawberry fields are available not only in Rövershagen but also in Rostock and Ribnitz-Damgarten.
Karls Rövershagen is the largest and oldest of the five Karls Experience Villages today and a classic destination for families from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, from the Hanseatic city of Rostock to the Baltic Sea resorts on Fischland-Darß-Zingst. The farm is considered one of the most visited family destinations in Northern Germany and has received the HolidayCheck Gold Award multiple times. Admission is free year-round — you only pay for consumption and individual special attractions.
During the main holiday period from July 3rd to August 23rd, the Experience Village is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Outside these times, the standard hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. apply.
