Summer open-air series in the Kammgarn courtyard featuring rock, pop, indie, hard rock, and jazz
The courtyard of the Kammgarn, a former spinning mill with characteristic industrial architecture, has been one of the most atmospheric open-air concert venues in the Pfalz region since the 1990s. The brick facades, the acoustics of the enclosed courtyard, and the combination of urban location and industrial-historical setting make the Kulturgarten a distinctive venue. Over three weeks, from August 7th to 29th, 2026, a dense summer program unfolds here.
The 2026 program showcases the full breadth of the Kammgarn's profile. Strange Kind of Women opens on August 7th with a hard rock tribute program reinterpreting classics from Deep Purple to Rainbow. On August 8th, Die höchste Eisenbahn from Berlin follows with German-language indie pop. Rose Tattoo, one of Australia's defining hard rock bands, comes to the Kammgarn on August 11th. Swiss rockers Dirty Sound Magnet are guests on August 12th, followed by Thomas Blug and his BluesAnarchie on August 13th.
SOFFIE and her pop performance take the stage on August 14th, followed by Lina Maly & Enno Bunger on August 15th with a double singer-songwriter stage. A special highlight on August 21st is the British folk-rock institution New Model Army, whose performance is among the absolute highlights of the Kulturgarten summer. On August 22nd, the Nuit de la Chanson, the regular chanson night of the Kammgarn, takes place. The finale features FRONTM3N with classic rock vocal harmonies on August 28th and TIAVO with NDW-inspired pop music on August 29th.
The Kammgarn Kaiserslautern, founded as a central concert and cultural house on the former spinning mill site, is one of the most important independent cultural venues in Rhineland-Palatinate. It combines concert operations with festival formats (Sound of the World, Jazz Festival, Blues Festival), DJ nights, and occasional performance and theater formats. The Kulturgarten is the summer outdoor extension of this programming work.
