Junge Bühne Lahnstein – Musical It's Close to Midnight

Junge Bühne Lahnstein is one of the most established youth theatre projects in western Rhineland-Palatinate. Every year, the ensemble of young people aged 16 to 26 stages its own production – with professional standards, high energy, and a joy of performance that captivates the audience.

In 2026, the musical "It's Close to Midnight" is on the schedule, a musical crime story set in 1920s Chicago. Charleston, burlesque, a gangster war between rival gangs, plus secrets, betrayal, love – the ingredients of classic mafia dramas are combined into a thrilling musical evening.

22 actors are on stage. Live music, dance choreography in the style of the 1920s, elaborate costumes, and a well-thought-out stage design make the production an ambitious undertaking that combines youthful enthusiasm and professional theatre work.

The production is part of the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz 2026, whose motto "The Roaring Twenties" is a perfect fit for this theme. Funding from Kultursommer enables Junge Bühne to produce it at a quality level that deserves attention beyond the region.

The venue is the Johannes-Gymnasium Lahnstein, whose auditorium offers the necessary conditions for this ambitious staging. Several performances are scheduled throughout May; advance ticket sales are via deinetickets.de.
