Weekly summer concert series on the car-free North Sea island of Juist
Juist calls itself "Töwerland" – Low German for "magic land". The car-free North Sea island with its 17 kilometers of sandy beach, vast dunes, and a dense pine forest in the south is one of Germany's most extraordinary holiday destinations. Movement on the island is by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage – a privilege that makes the island a refuge for stressed city dwellers, families with small children, and those seeking relaxation.
The Töwerland Concerts are the musical framework for this summer. While other spa concerts are often limited to a handful of events per week, Juist offers at least one concert almost daily during the main season, and even two or three on several days a week. The organizer is the Juist spa administration, which carefully balances the program between classical spa music, modern repertoire, and family entertainment.
The spectrum of the Töwerland Concerts is intentionally broad:
Most Töwerland Concerts are free to attend. Concerts on the Kurplatz are generally held outdoors and are free for all island guests and day visitors. For concerts in the Haus des Kurgastes or the church, a small admission fee or the presentation of the spa card/guest card may be required.
The Töwerland Concerts 2026 continue the proven format. The organizer is the Juist spa administration. The program is renewed weekly and follows the summer weeks of the main travel season.
The weekly program is continuously published by the Juist spa administration and can be viewed on juist.de. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Mainly Kurplatz and Haus des Kurgastes (central in Juist village). Due to weather, the concert venue may change – daily announcements via the spa administration and notices on the island.
Several concerts daily, often 11 AM (morning concert), 4 PM (afternoon concert), and 8 PM (evening concert). Detailed weekly schedule available at the spa administration and on juist.de.
Concerts on the Kurplatz are usually free. Individual concerts in the Haus des Kurgastes or the church may have a small admission fee or require presentation of the spa card.
Juist is only accessible by ferry. Ferries depart from Norddeich Mole (train station) several times a day, with schedule depending on tides. Journey time approx. 90 minutes. Operator: Reederei Norden-Frisia. It is recommended to travel by train to Norddeich Mole.
