Wine Festival at the Foot of the Landskrone

Heimersheim, a district of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, is picturesquely situated at the foot of the Landskrone – a volcanic cone with a castle ruin that towers over the lower Ahr Valley. The Historical Wine Festival takes advantage of this special topography, combining wine service, historical program, art, and culture for three days into an atmospheric village experience. Unlike the region's major festivals, the event consciously focuses on the medieval flair of the location.

Art, Culture, and the Middle Ages

Throughout the three festival days, there will be readings, concerts, demonstrations, and small-scale reenactments that bring the region's medieval heritage to life. Stalls in the village center offer wine from Heimersheim vintners, regional food, and crafts. A special touch is the church service on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. directly on the market square, with which the festival honors its religious-cultural origins.

Arrival and Shuttle

Heimersheim is a compact village with clearly laid-out paths around the market square. On Friday and Saturday, a free shuttle bus runs between the festival grounds and the Alter Bahnhof Heimersheim, which is served by the Ahrtalbahn (RB 30) and bus line 830. This allows for convenient travel without a car, which particularly facilitates enjoyment of the festival in the evening hours.

Support Association as Organizer

The festival is supported by the association Wir für Heimersheim e.V., which handles the organization with numerous volunteers. The proceeds benefit local projects; thus, the festival also serves as a meeting place and a solidarity event for the village community.
