Italian Street Food at Berlin's Osthafen
With the Italian Street Food Festival, True Italian has established a regular summer event in Berlin for several years. The venue is the Spree riverbank at Alt-Stralau 1–2, directly at Osthafen in the Friedrichshain district—one of the most beautiful waterfront locations in the city center, with views of the Oberbaum Bridge and Mediaspree. The organizer is the platform True Italian, an Italian media and gastro company based in Berlin that also runs the magazine of the same name.
Each year, the festival brings around 20 stalls to the site, featuring a mix of Italian food trucks, restaurants from Berlin, and specialty vendors from Italy. On the plates: Arancini from Sicily, Pizza from Naples and Rome, Gnocchi from Emilia-Romagna, Supplì from Lazio, Porchetta from Umbria, fresh pasta in various forms. Vegetarian and vegan options are explicitly part of the concept. Accompanied by wines, Aperol Spritz, Limoncello, coffee, and Italian desserts.
Unlike classic street food markets, the event is continuously filled with music: karaoke in the afternoon, DJ sets from the late afternoon (typically 7:30 PM–10 PM), and live music during specific slots. A children's program is also part of the concept. Free admission. According to the organizer, attendance is around 10,000 visitors over two days—so arriving early is recommended, especially during peak lunch and dinner times.
The 2026 edition of the Italian Street Food Festival Berlin will take place on June 6 and 7, 2026, at the Spree riverbank Alt-Stralau 1–2 at Osthafen, from 11 AM to 10 PM daily. The organizer is True Italian. The festival is both the highlight and conclusion of the First Italian Week Berlin (May 28 to June 7, 2026), a festival format for the Italian diaspora and its Berlin partners. Free admission.
The exact lineup of stalls and DJs will be published shortly before the festival on true-italian.com and Instagram. Structurally, the program follows the proven format:
