40th Volksfest of the Market Town of Isen – Culture, Tradition, and Festival Tent
The Isener Volksfest has been a firm fixture in the summer calendar of the Erding district since the early 1980s. With the 2026 edition, the market town of Isen celebrates its 40th anniversary – a jubilee that will be marked with a particularly carefully curated program. Characteristic of the market town is the combination of culture, tradition, and fine programming: the Volksfest is more than just beer service; it aims to distinguish itself from neighboring folk festivals with special highlights.
The festival grounds are divided into three main areas:
A special feature of the Isener Volksfest: The opening on the first evening does not take place – as is usual – with a simple beer tapping ceremony, but with a double cabaret show. In 2026, Da Huawa und I and Tom & Basti will be on stage, providing a culturally spiced start.
Isen is located in the eastern part of the Erding district in the Upper Bavarian region. The market town with almost 6,000 inhabitants was historically an important parish center – the collegiate church of St. Zeno is one of the most significant Romanesque buildings in Old Bavaria. The Volksfest reflects the community's traditional Bavarian identity: down-to-earth, but with style.
The 40th edition of the Isener Volksfest is organized by the market town of Isen, with Hans Schrimpf serving as the festival commissioner. The program combines classic folk festival elements with a cultural touch that has characterized the event for years.
The exact day-by-day program, including bands, ride prices, and the bus shuttle schedule, will be published on the official website in due course.
The exact hourly schedule with band performances, bus routes, and any admission fees for special program items will be released shortly before the Volksfest on isener-volksfest.de.
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Depending on the event format, a separate ticket may be required for the cabaret opening on June 24 – details on the official website.
Isen is located about 20 km east of Erding and 25 km west of Mühldorf am Inn. The festival grounds are accessible by car via the B 15 federal highway; parking is available directly at the site. For travel from Erding and the surrounding area, there is a bus shuttle service; the exact timetable will be published on the festival website.
