41 Years of Running History in the Solling

The International Solling Run was founded in 1985 and has since developed into one of Lower Saxony's most attractive popular running events. The 41st edition in 2026 marks another year in a long series of sporting highlights that attract thousands of runners from all over Germany and neighboring countries to Dassel.

Courses for Every Skill Level

The range of courses offered by the Solling Run is exceptionally comprehensive. From the mini-run for the youngest participants to the fun run courses and the full marathon distance of 42.5 kilometers, every type of runner will find their challenge. The individual distances in 2026:

• Marathon: 42.5 kilometers through the Solling
• Long: 30.8 kilometers
• Medium: 22.8 kilometers
• Half Marathon: 14.3 kilometers
• Short: 5 kilometers
• Children's Runs: 2.6 kilometers and 1.2 kilometers

Nature as the Second Main Star

The special appeal of the Solling Run lies in its natural setting. The courses lead through extensive beech and mixed forests, over ridges, along clear streams, and through quiet forest paths. Those who run in the Solling in spring experience the awakening low mountain landscape in all its splendor – an experience that brings many regular participants back year after year.

Organizer Culture and Volunteer Commitment

Behind the Solling Run are two traditional clubs: Dasseler Sport-Club von 1920 e.V. and Hof.Kultur Dassel e.V. Hundreds of volunteers operate refreshment stations along the course, keep the paths safe, and ensure the warm atmosphere for which the Solling Run is known.
