Hamburg's Most Unusual Fun Run
The International Airport Race Hamburg is one of the oldest and most unusual fun runs in the Hanseatic city. It has been organised by Lufthansa Sportverein Hamburg (LSV) since 1984. The start and finish are at the LSV sports facility on Borsteler Chaussee, and the run leads around and over the airport grounds – including a passage through a multi-storey car park as a distinctive section of the course.

This format covers all age groups, from toddler dashes to ambitious fun runs.
Part of the Hamburg Running Cup
The Airport Race is part of the Hamburg Running Cup, a competition series over several Hamburg fun runs throughout the year. Ambitious Hamburg runners use the race accordingly to collect Cup points.
Groß Borstel, Hamburg-Nord District
The venue is the LSV sports facility in Groß Borstel, a quiet district of Hamburg just north of the airport. Access via U1/U3 Ohlsdorf + bus, or directly by bike. It's an established sporting event in the Hamburg-Nord district with charm – not least because of the unique route along the edge of the airport.
