Hoffest at Weingut J. Bettenheimer Ingelheim as part of the 2026 Wine Estate Festivals series in the Red Wine City
The Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals are a well-established summer event in the Red Wine City on the Rhine. Over several weekends, family-run wineries open their courtyards to the public one after another. The concept is simple: instead of a central festival ground with anonymous stalls, the vintners create a three-day festival in their own courtyards – with a courtyard atmosphere, wine service, food, and musical accompaniment.
Weingut J. Bettenheimer is one of the well-known Ingelheim family wineries with a long tradition. At the Hoffest in July, the family presents its current wines. The focus is on the typical Ingelheim repertoire, with an emphasis on red wine: Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder, occasionally Dornfelder, and cuvées. Fresh white wines are also served – Riesling, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau – as well as rosés.
The courtyard atmosphere is the heart of the festival. Beer benches under the open sky, parasols during the day, fairy lights in the evening, an open courtyard that brings generations together. Visitors meet the wine-growing family, chat, get to know the wines firsthand, and gain insight into the work of a winery.
The culinary offerings are classically Rhenish Hessian: Spundekäs, Handkäs mit Musik, Bratwurst, steaks, cheese platters, quiche, tarte flambée, salads. Vegetarian options complement the menu. Sweet classics like plum cake, crumble cake, and ice cream in the late afternoon round off the program.
Moderate musical accompaniment – acoustic sets, occasional small bands – creates the right atmosphere without overshadowing the conversational nature of the Hoffest.
The Hoffest at Weingut J. Bettenheimer is part of the 2026 Wine Estate Festivals series, which runs over several weekends from July to August in Ingelheim. Visitors who attend multiple events can discover the differences in style, repertoire, and character of the individual wineries.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept of the Hoffeste within the Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals.
The exact 2026 program will be published by Weingut Bettenheimer in due course. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
