Hoffest at Weingut Nichtern on Westerberg as part of the Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals at the end of August 2026
Weingut Nichtern is located on the Westerberg, one of Ingelheim's well-known vineyard hills on the western edge of the red wine town. Situated on the slope above the town, it offers a wide view over the vineyards and the Rhine floodplain – a particularly beautiful setting for a summer Hoffest in the late afternoon and evening.
The 2026 Hoffest is part of the popular series of Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals, which focuses on the open courtyards of Ingelheim's vintners for several weekends from July to August. On the second to last weekend of August, Weingut Nichtern takes its turn. For three days – Friday to Sunday – the estate is open to visitors.
The focus is on the wine bar. The Nichtern family presents their current vintage wines, with a special emphasis on Ingelheim red wines. Pinot Noir in various styles – from light, fruity summer red wines to richer, barrel-aged Pinot Noir – form the core. Frühburgunder and cuvées complement the red wine selection. For white wines, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, and Müller-Thurgau are available. The rosé wines are particularly popular in summer.
The culinary offerings include classic Rheinhessen Hoffest dishes: Spundekäs, Handkäs mit Musik, Bratwurst, steaks, cheese platters, salads, tarte flambée, and sweet classics. Vegetarian and vegan options complete the offering.
The courtyard atmosphere on the Westerberg is shaped by its special location: the wide view over the vines, the play of light in the late afternoon, the tranquility of the vineyards in the background. Beer benches, umbrellas, and string lights in the evening create a relaxed, summery mood.
Moderate musical accompaniment – acoustic sets, occasional small live concerts – provides the right atmosphere without overshadowing the conversational nature of the Hoffest. The festival is part of the Wine Estate Festivals series 2026.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept of the Hoffest on the Westerberg.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by Weingut Nichtern in due course. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
