Hoffest at Weingut J. Neus as part of the Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals 2026 in the Red Wine City on the Rhine
Ingelheim am Rhein has carried the epithet Red Wine City for generations. Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder, and Cuvées shape the wine profile of the city, which was already significant in Charlemagne's time as a preferred Palatinate location and wine-growing center on the right bank of the Rhine. With the Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals, a series of local wineries open their courtyards in May, June, July, and August to visitors from Rheinhessen, Rheingau, and the wider region.
Weingut J. Neus is among the oldest and most renowned wineries in the city. Over the extended Pentecost weekend from May 14th to 17th, 2026, the winegrowing family opens its estate, invites guests to its Hoffest and wine service, and turns the property into a meeting point for wine lovers and visitors for four days.
The current vintage wines will be served in the winery's courtyard: Spätburgunder in various styles, Frühburgunder, Cuvées, Riesling, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Müller-Thurgau, and Rosé. The wines are served in tasting glasses, a wine voucher system simplifies payment, and the winegrowing family is available to guests for questions and recommendations.
The culinary offerings include typical Rheinhessen dishes: Spundekäs, Handkäs mit Musik, Bratwurst, steaks, Flammkuchen, cheese platters, homemade salads, and seasonal asparagus specialties. The courtyard atmosphere, beer benches under trees, fairy lights, and – on several evenings – live acoustic music contribute to the ambiance.
The Hoffest at Weingut J. Neus is part of a series of Ingelheim Wine Estate Festivals that take place over several weekends from May to August. Visitors who attend multiple Hoffeste can experience the different styles, terroirs, and personalities of Ingelheim's wineries and discover the Red Wine City from ever-new perspectives.
The 2026 edition follows the proven concept of the Ingelheim Hoffeste: open doors, wines from the producer, courtyard atmosphere, regional specialties, and personal encounters. The extended Pentecost weekend offers four days of festivities at one of Ingelheim's most renowned wineries.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by Weingut J. Neus in due course. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
