Three days, 500 cultural creators, 70 acts on three stages – music, theatre, dance, literature, and exhibitions at Burg Seevetal
Seevetal is a municipality with a large area in the Harburg district, south of Hamburg's city limits, formed from several districts. It is one of the most populous municipalities in Lower Saxony. Once a year, the cultural festival bundles the cultural diversity of this large municipality at three central venues, making it publicly accessible.
With 500 cultural creators and 70 acts, the festival is a large-scale event. Participants include choirs, school and club orchestras, independent theatre groups, professional artists, and guests from the North German region. The programme includes classical and popular music, modern and classical theatre, dance performances, readings, performances, and visual arts.
The three venues complement each other:
Admission to the festival is free. Only for the gala on Saturday evening, which traditionally offers a particularly elaborately produced programme, are tickets sold via the Reservix pre-sale portal. The gala is considered the highlight of the festival and is often quickly sold out.
The Kulturfestival is organised by the municipality of Seevetal in cooperation with the Kulturstiftung Seevetal. It is part of the cultural policy strategy to strengthen the identity of the large municipality and give it its own cultural profile that distinguishes it from the surrounding major cities of Hamburg and Lüneburg.
As in previous years, the Kulturfestival is designed as a curated cross-section of the cultural diversity of Seevetal and the wider region. Local initiatives perform alongside professional guests, creating a special atmosphere.
The exact programme with all 70 acts, their performance times, and precise venues will be published by the organiser in the spring.
