Hummelsbüttel celebrates its newly designed park
For several years, the Tegelsbarg park in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel has been completely redesigned – a project from the federal-state funding program RISE (Integrated Urban Development Framework Program). On June 20, 2026, the new facility will be officially inaugurated – with a neighborhood festival on the sunbathing lawn at Norbert-Schmid-Platz.
From 1:30 PM to 6 PM, residents will celebrate the results of the renovation on the sunbathing lawn: stage program, hands-on activities on the new sports fields, demonstrations by local sports and educational institutions, and small catering. The organizer is the Tegelsbarg/Müssenredder Neighborhood Office of AWO Hamburg, which coordinates social urban development in the district.
Hummelsbüttel is located in the Wandsbek district, in the northeast of Hamburg. Tegelsbarg is a classic large residential area with a high proportion of young families and teenagers – the new park is specifically aimed at this target group.
