32nd edition at Badesee Rattelsdorf — Olympic distance, popular distance, relays
Badesee Rattelsdorf in Mühlgasse 4a, 96179 Rattelsdorf is located in the Bamberg district, about 15 km north of the World Heritage city of Bamberg. Its location in the flat Main river lowlands makes it ideal for a triathlon course: calm, clear swimming in the lake, a fast bike course through the Franconian countryside, and a running course along fields and forest paths.
Several hundred athletes from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Thuringia, and Saxony participate every year across the disciplines. The event is a regular fixture in the Franconian triathlon calendar.
Behind the event is the registered association IfA Nonstop Bamberg e.V., which organizes the competition on a voluntary basis since its first edition. The name "Nonstop" stands for the seamless transitions between disciplines — a classic triathlon virtue.
Those arriving for the competition can combine their trip with a visit to Bamberg's old town. Bamberg has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993, famous for its cathedral (Bamberger Reiter), the former episcopal residence, and the island town on the Regnitz river arm. Franconian beer (Bamberg is the city with the highest brewery density in Germany) is also a good reason to visit.
In 2026, IfA Nonstop Bamberg invites you to the 32nd triathlon at Badesee Rattelsdorf. The competition day usually starts early in the morning with the Olympic distances, followed by sprint and relay events according to the schedule. Athletes from all over southern Germany travel for the event.
The distances have been officially confirmed by the organizer: Olympic distance (1.5 km swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run) and popular distance/sprint (0.5 + 20 + 5 km). The courses use Badesee Rattelsdorf as the swimming venue and the quiet roads and paths in the Main valley for cycling and running.
Detailed schedule, course maps, and registration details will be provided via ifa-nonstop-bamberg.de as well as the club's Facebook and Instagram channels (@ifanonstop).
