Motorcycle Racing on the Track in the Bördeland
The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is located in the middle of the Magdeburger Börde, in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt. Since its opening in 1997, it has been one of the most important race tracks in Eastern Germany and is a regular fixture on the national and international touring car, motorcycle, and GT series calendars. At the beginning of August 2026, the EURO MOTO (formerly the IDM — International German Motorcycle Championship) will stop here — one of the most thrilling race weekends on the German motorsport calendar.
Three Classes, One Track, Full Throttle
Races are offered in the three central EURO MOTO classes: EURO MOTO Superbike (1000cc sport machines), EURO MOTO Supersport (middleweight class), and EURO MOTO Sportbike. In addition, there are cup classes such as the Pro Superstock 1000, the ADAC Junior Cup, and various Kawasaki Cups. The track (3.667 km, 14 corners) is considered technically demanding by riders — the combination of medium-length straights and fast corners requires precise lines and courage.
A Shorter Start to the Summer Break
In 2026, the season break before the Oschersleben event will be slightly shorter than usual — the series resumes racing at the beginning of August after a four-week summer break. This makes Oschersleben the kick-off to the second half of the season. Expectations are high: the track is considered above average for overtaking maneuvers, and the audience in Saxony-Anhalt is familiar with the track and the sport.
Fan Perspective, Spectator Areas, Atmosphere
The grandstands are distributed along the entire length of the track. Popular spectator spots include the grandstand on the start-finish straight, the grassy area at the "run-off corner," and the natural viewing mound at turn 11. There is fan access to the paddock on certain days, along with show runs and autograph sessions. Those who want to fully experience the race weekend should plan for Thursday to Sunday — practice, qualifying, and races are spread over four days.
