HOWDY – Family Country Festival

Country Lifestyle in the Oberpfalz

The HOWDY – Family Country Festival takes place at Grenzzoigl in Auerbach in der Oberpfalz, a town in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in eastern Bavaria. For two days, the grounds transform into a small Western world with country music, line dancing, and campfire atmosphere.

Music Program

Live country bands play on both days. Confirmed acts include the Phil Seccer Band, an acoustic trio with a vintage sound of guitar, mandolin, kazoo, and double bass, as well as the up-and-coming band Dreist und Durstig from Auerbach.

Line Dance and Interactive Program

Line dance workshops with trainers from the Flying Boots and Linedance Friends from Pegnitz are offered separately for beginners and advanced dancers. In addition, there are typical Western games like boot tossing and a varied stage program.

For Children and Families

The festival is designed as a family event: pony rides, gold panning, crafts, and storytelling provide a dedicated children's program. It starts around noon each day and runs until the evening.

Western Cuisine

Culinary delights await guests with Western fare: spare ribs, bean pan, and burgers fresh from the grill, along with classic beer garden options. The festival takes place in any weather, as both open-air and tent areas are available.
