Nighttime horror spectacle on ten weekends at Filmpark Babelsberg
Filmpark Babelsberg is the gateway to the historic Babelsberg film studio in Potsdam – home to productions like "Metropolis" (1927), "Inglourious Basterds," or "Babylon Berlin." By day, it's a theme park for families with stunt shows and film sets; every autumn, the 16-hectare grounds transform into a completely different venue: The Filmpark's Horror Nights are among the largest and oldest Halloween events in Germany.
For 2026, ten dates have been confirmed: October 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31, as well as November 6 and 7. On each Friday and Saturday, the grounds open – but only for a very specific audience.
What sets the Babelsberg Horror Nights apart from comparable haunted houses is the nighttime format:
This concept is the program: The Filmpark closes its regular daytime operations, the grounds are completely reconfigured, and only then does it open for the night – empty studio area, complete darkness, all stages and halls become settings for a grand walk-through horror show.
The exact themes are traditionally kept secret by the Filmpark – part of the experience is the surprise. These elements are constant:
Tickets are sold through the official website and Ticketmaster – usually with early bird and VIP options. Popular dates (Halloween weekend October 30/31) often sell out weeks in advance. Due to the intense staging, the format is explicitly not suitable for people with cardiovascular issues or phobias. Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, and caution: those who startle easily will get their money's worth here.
The Horror Nights 2026 at Filmpark Babelsberg will take place on ten dates:
Each date opens its gates at 10:40 PM, with the program starting at 11:00 PM. Minimum age: 16 years.
The program includes walk-through houses, costumed scareactors, sets from film productions, and outdoor staging across the entire 16-hectare grounds. Details of individual themes are traditionally kept secret by the Filmpark.
