About Höri Musiktage
Höri Musiktage — edition 2026
Höri Musiktage 2026 — 10th Anniversary
This year's edition is particularly significant with its 10th anniversary. Over 11 festival days, the festival brings together 125 musicians — international soloists, established ensembles, and “Young Masters” of the next generation. The motto “ECHOES OF TIME AND WATER” connects the theme of water (location on Lake Constance, Handel's Water Music) with the historical resonance of the former monastery walls.
The event is the most important chamber music festival on the western Lake Constance and ranks among the finest programming in Southern Germany. Tickets are available for presale starting June 1, 2026 — many concerts sell out quickly.

Höri Musiktage — Chamber Music at Lake Constance, 10th Anniversary
Since its founding in 2017, the Höri Musiktage has become one of the most important chamber music festivals on Lake Constance. It takes place in Öhningen on the Höri Peninsula — a tranquil, scenically unique part of the western Lake Constance region. The main venue is the Augustinian Canons' Monastery Öhningen (founded in the Middle Ages), whose monastery courtyard and church provide an unusual acoustic and atmospheric stage for the festival concerts. The 10th Anniversary Edition runs from August 6 to 16, 2026, under the motto “ECHOES OF TIME AND WATER — Young Masters. Old Walls. New Sound.”
125 Musicians — International Top Level
Over the eleven festival days, around 125 musicians from various ensembles will perform. The program combines returning ensembles (from the first nine editions) with new international acts:
- BaroqueLAB Frankfurt: Opening concert “Echoes of Water” on August 6 with Handel's Water Music and video art by Markus Brenner
- Spanish Brass: Spanish brass ensemble — “Crossover, highest virtuosity, astonishing versatility”
- Quatuor Zaïde: French all-female string quartet
- James Oesi Trio: Dutch viola trio
- Sonus Quintett: German-Austrian wind quintet
- Further soloists and ensembles from Europe
Augustinian Canons' Monastery Öhningen — The Venue
The Augustinian Canons' Monastery Öhningen is one of the oldest monasteries on Lake Constance. The 11th-century monastery church, with its Romanesque core, offers exceptional acoustics; the monastery courtyard serves as an open-air venue for summer concerts. This dual use — the church indoors, the courtyard outdoors — is the spatial hallmark of the Höri Musiktage and a key part of the festival's identity.
Family Program and Workshops
The festival is intentionally broad in scope: alongside the main concerts, there are family programs such as Zick Zack Zirkus — interactive musical activities for children — and musical theater. Workshops for young musicians (“Young Masters” from the festival title) complement the program.
Finale in the Monastery Church
The grand finale on August 16, 2026 — “Echoes of Time” — will take place inside the Öhningen Monastery Church: an expansive orchestral concert marking the festive conclusion of the 11 festival days.
Öhningen and the Höri Peninsula
Öhningen (approx. 4,000 inhabitants, Konstanz district, AGS 08335) is located at the western tip of Lake Constance, opposite Steckborn (Switzerland). In the 20th century, the Höri Peninsula was a chosen home for numerous artists and writers (Hermann Hesse in Gaienhofen, Otto Dix in Hemmenhofen). Today, the Höri Musiktage represent the most significant contemporary contribution to this artistic tradition.
