Höri — the narrow peninsula on the Untersee
The Höri peninsula stretches between the Untersee (Lake Constance) and the Swiss border as a narrow strip of land — a region famous for its mild climate zone, its artists' colony (Otto Dix, Hermann Hesse, Erich Heckel) and its tranquility. Moos, with around 3,600 inhabitants, is the central municipality of Höri in the district of Konstanz (state of Baden-Württemberg). The Bürgerhaus Moos is the main venue for the Höri Musiktage, which have established themselves as an ambitious chamber music festival on the southern shore of Lake Constance since 2017.
10 Years of Höri Musiktage — Anniversary Year 2026
In 2026, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary. The Spring Trilogy in March and April marks the start of a year-round anniversary program, which will continue with further concerts in the summer and autumn.
Three Concerts 2026
March 14, 2026, 8:00 PM — Sospiri Musicali
The Ensemble Eco Soave presents early Baroque chamber music from the perspective of the Doctrine of the Affections — the Baroque doctrine that every musical gesture must evoke a specific emotion. Works by Barbara Strozzi, Georg Philipp Telemann, George Frideric Handel, and Henry Purcell, played on historical instruments: voice, theorbo, harpsichord, and rebec.
April 18, 2026, 8:00 PM — Third Stream
The Max Petersen Jazz Trio and the Sophie Lüssi String Quartet play together — a crossover between African-American jazz and European classical music. The concert explores improvisation forms from bebop to Renaissance counterpoint. Third Stream is the historical term coined by Gunther Schuller for the fusion of jazz and classical chamber music — and the program title at the same time.
April 19, 2026, 5:00 PM — Spiegel der Romantik
The Stéphane Bölingen Piano Trio presents a program of Romantic masterpieces by Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák. Both composers were bound by a close friendship (Brahms supported the younger Dvořák in his international breakthrough). The program reflects this compositional kinship — making the close relationship between the composers audible, according to the program.
Höri and Lake Constance as a Concert Backdrop
Anyone who comes to Moos in the spring combines a concert with a stay on the Höri — hiking through the meadows around Iznang and Gaienhofen, visiting the Otto Dix House in Hemmenhofen, strolling along the Untersee with views of the Swiss shore. Höri is one of Germany's mildest climate regions; in April, magnolias, forsythias, and cherry trees are already in bloom here — the perfect accompaniment to chamber music.
