Horchheimer FastNightsUmzug

A night parade with its own character

While most Rheinhessen carnival parades take place during the day, the Horchheimer FastNightsUmzug has developed its hallmark from the nighttime staging. The floats are equipped with strings of lights, spotlights, LED bands and sometimes with pyrotechnic effects; the walking groups wear illuminated elements on costumes and props. The result is a very distinctive visual effect that clearly differs from the daytime parade and attracts numerous spectators from the entire Worms region.

Route through the Horchheim village centre

The parade starts at 6:11 PM and moves through the Obere Hauptstraße and the Untere Hauptstraße in the centre of Worms-Horchheim. The route is manageable and ideal for families, as spectators have good visibility along the main streets. Marshals and volunteer helpers from the Brauchtumsverein secure the route and ensure smooth operation.

FastNightsDorf on the market square

The FastNightsDorf already opens its doors on the Horchheim market square from 5 PM. Visitors can expect a stage program with carnival societies, music clubs and dance ensembles from Worms and the surrounding area. Numerous catering stands provide Rheinhessen specialties, mulled wine, beer and hot drinks. After the parade, the carnival crowd returns to the FastNightsDorf, where celebrations continue late into the evening.

The Horchheim Brauchtumsverein

The Horchheimer Brauchtumsverein e.V. organizes the parade on a voluntary basis and thereby cultivates an important tradition of the Worms district. The association bundles forces from the local club landscape, from carnival societies to music clubs and sports clubs, and thus creates a broad community event. Donations, advertising partnerships and stall fees finance the expense for stages, security concept and logistics.

Worms carnival weekend

The Horchheimer FastNightsUmzug is part of a dense carnival weekend in Worms: on Saturday follows the central Worms street carnival with Spass uff de Gass on the Obermarkt; on the other days, numerous Worms carnival societies and districts celebrate their own events. With its Friday evening slot, the Horchheim parade is a perfect prelude.
