Harvest-time festival at Weingut Würtzberg in Serrig on the Saar on September 13, 2026
Weingut Würtzberg is located in Serrig, on the Saar — a tributary valley of the Mosel, which with only around 800 hectares of vineyards is considered the little sister of the Mosel. The high altitudes, cool nights, and slate soils produce Rieslings with high minerality and pronounced tension. The Hoffest on September 13, 2026, falls right in the middle of the harvest season — a date when the tension in the vineyard is particularly palpable and initial impressions of the new vintage are already being discussed.
Weingut Würtzberg is known regionally not only for its wines but also for its modern winery architecture. Clear lines, high-quality materials, and a confident approach to spatial dimensions characterize the building complex. At the Hoffest, this architecture becomes the stage: tasting stands, hospitality areas, and conversation zones are integrated into the ensemble. Those who appreciate wine and architecture equally will find a rare combination here.
Wines from the Würtzberg vineyards around Serrig will be served. The Riesling Saar is presented in several styles — from puristic dry estate Rieslings to delicate single-vineyard wines to off-dry and noble sweet Spätlesen and Auslesen. Accompanying the guests will be regional dishes that complement the clear, straightforward Saar wine style.
Serrig, along with Saarburg, Ayl, Schoden, and Wiltingen, is one of the important wine villages on the Saar. Weingut Würtzberg is among the wineries that have developed the confident Saar wine profile. Visitors to the Hoffest can easily combine the day with a walk through the Saar valley — or with stops at other Saar wineries such as Schloss Saarstein, also located in Serrig.
The 2026 Hoffest is designed as a Sunday event — starting at noon, with hospitality throughout the afternoon, and a convivial conclusion in the early evening. Families and day-trippers are welcome.
The exact hourly schedule and musical accompaniment will be communicated by Weingut Würtzberg in advance.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
