Two days of Classic Rock and Hard Rock — Tygers of Pan Tang and John Diva & the Rockets of Love on June 26–27, 2026
The HOA — Haan Open Air Festival is one of the confirmed summer rock festivals in the southern Ruhr area and northern Bergisches Land. For years, the venue has been the parking lot of the Ostermann furniture store at Landstraße 40 in Haan — a large, asphalted open-air area with good infrastructure, which transforms into a festival stage every year for a weekend. In 2026, the festival will take place from Friday, June 26, to Saturday, June 27 — two days of focused programming between Classic Rock, Hard Rock, and Glam.
The British band Tygers of Pan Tang is one of the founding bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) — formed in 1978, they paved the way for Iron Maiden, Saxon, and the entire British heavy metal genre of the early 80s. With cult albums like “Wild Cat" (1980) and “Spellbound" (1981, featuring John Sykes on guitar), the Tygers have secured a firm place in hard rock history. The band regularly tours Europe and will be the Friday headliner at HOA — a real coup for a German mid-sized festival.
John Diva & the Rockets of Love are the Bavarian answer to the Sunset Strip Glam Rock of the late 80s — hairspray, leather pants with spandex, mothball-tight playing, and songs that sound like they were written in 1989 on Long Beach. The band is a live phenomenon, rocking conventions, festivals, and Wacken's 90s stage. As Saturday headliners, they provide the uninhibitedly entertaining counterpart to the Tygers' classic rock sound.
HOA is a classic German mid-sized festival: well-organized, clearly focused on its target audience (rock and hard rock fans), family-friendly (children under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult), and moderately priced. There is no on-site camping — the festival is geared towards daytime/evening events, with tickets for the respective day or the whole weekend. Catering includes classic festival fare with bratwurst, pizza, fries, vegetarian options, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Haan, with around 31,000 inhabitants, is a medium-sized town in the Mettmann district, located between Düsseldorf, Wuppertal, and Solingen. It is conveniently situated on the A46 and A535 motorways. Those arriving by car should use the Haan-Ost exit. For overnight stays, there are local hotels — however, many festival guests travel on the same day from the greater Düsseldorf/Wuppertal/Cologne area.
The 2026 edition features two clear headliners from different rock genres: the British NWOBHM pioneers Tygers of Pan Tang as the historical hard rock anchor on Friday and the German Glam Rock phenomenon John Diva & the Rockets of Love as the entertaining show act on Saturday. A compact, well-organized mid-sized festival at the established Ostermann parking lot in the southern Ruhr area/northern Bergisches Land.
