Oktoberfest and Farmers' Market — Two Traditions, One Weekend

Bad Oeynhausen — the spa town in the Minden-Lübbecke district — has been combining its two autumn highlights for nine years into a joint weekend: the downtown Oktoberfest (October 9–10) and the traditional autumn and farmers' market (October 10–11). From October 9th to 11th, 2026, the entire city center will transform into a 1-kilometer festival mile with over 100 stalls, a festival tent, and several stages.

The Bavarian Festival Tent

The heart of the event is the Bavarian festival tent in the city center, offering a classic Oktoberfest atmosphere: Maßkrüge (liter steins), pretzels, roast chicken, Weißwurst (white sausages) — and live Oktoberfest bands. Friday and Saturday evenings turn into festival tent marathons with prominent Oktoberfest acts (program details at bebo-events.de).

The Autumn and Farmers' Market

Parallel to the festival tent, the autumn and farmers' market stretches along the pedestrian zone. Over 100 stalls from regional producers from the Minden-Lübbecke district and Ostwestfalen-Lippe: honey, cheese, game sausages, bread from wood-fired ovens, apple juice from scattered orchards, jams, pumpkins, onion braids. Plus arts and crafts — pottery, leatherwork, wood carving, dried flowers.

Sunday — Shopping Sunday

On Sunday, October 11th, 2026, the shopping Sunday complements the festival mile: all downtown stores open in the afternoon, adding fashion, jewelry, and home accessories to the market offerings. A family day with children's programs at several locations.

Bad Oeynhausen — Spa Town with Tradition

With its brine spa park and late-classical city center, Bad Oeynhausen is one of Ostwestfalen's most beautiful spa towns. The autumn and farmers' market has been a tradition for decades — its combination with the Oktoberfest has existed since 2018 and has made the format a regional magnet.
