Autumn wine festival of the Winegrowers' Association at the WeinKulturGaden Thüngersheim
Thüngersheim am Main, north of Würzburg, is one of Franconia's best-known wine-growing villages. In the heart of the historic old town lie the WeinKulturGaden: six lovingly restored 'Gaden' in Kirchgasse, each dedicated to its own theme, which were opened as cultural and wine sites in 2015 after extensive renovation.
It is at this atmospheric location that the Thüngersheim Winegrowers' Association hosts its autumn wine festival, HelloWein. The name is a playful pun on "Halloween" and "Wein" (wine) and places the festival around October 31st – when the new vintage becomes available for tasting and autumn colours the vineyards. The focus is on the Franconian wines of the Thüngersheim vintners, served in the special atmosphere of the 'Gaden'.
HelloWein is a small, regional wine festival with a community spirit – far from mass tourism, but close to the wine and the village community. It is part of the vibrant Franconian wine festival culture and makes Thüngersheim a destination for wine lovers even in late autumn.
