Summer Evenings in Auelsburg

When summer evenings get long in Euskirchen, the city theater has established a nice tradition: On the first Wednesday of May to September, the small Auelsburg park opposite Georgpark transforms into an open-air stage. The format is called “Heimatstädtche Live” — and the name says it all: Regional bands and solo artists from the Rhineland perform on the small stage, from established professionals to newcomers.

Five Concerts, One Summer

The series includes five dates each year. The styles range from German-language punk rock to alternative rock, acoustic singer-songwriters, and rock-pop to rock 'n' roll. Characteristic: All artists present handmade music with their own compositions, supplemented by cover versions. No playback, no big production — pure live atmosphere in the park.

Euskirchen in the Rhineland

With around 60,000 inhabitants, Euskirchen is the district town of the district of the same name in North Rhine-Westphalia and is located between Cologne, Bonn, and the Eifel region. The city sees itself as a “Heimatstädtche” — a term that captures the region's attitude to life and gives the concert series its name. The Auelsburg park opposite Georgpark is a green oasis in the middle of the city and the ideal place to spend summer evenings with music.
