Nine stages, one night — pub festival in Heiligenhaus
HeiligenRock is the annual pub festival that concentrates Heiligenhaus into one spring night in April. The format: Nine venues and open-air stages in the city center — restaurants, bars, pubs, squares — host live concerts simultaneously. Those who have purchased a wristband can switch between venues at will, curating their own festival evening.
HeiligenRock caters to three styles: Rock, Rockabilly, and Pop. The festival thus appeals to an audience ranging from classic rock fans and the rockabilly scene to pop-savvy city dwellers. The band selection changes every year; the curatorial line is clear: handmade live music with a genre profile, no cover acts without character.
The nine stages are spread across the city center of Heiligenhaus — from restaurants and bars to open-air stages specially set up for the night in squares and alleys. The exact venues are announced each year before the festival. The short distances between stages define the format: within a few minutes' walk, the audience moves from one act to the next.
Festival starts at 6:30 PM. The program runs in parallel on all nine stages with two to three acts per venue. The festival end varies depending on the stage — from midnight to the early morning hours.
The organizer is Stadtmarketing Heiligenhaus. Heiligenhaus itself — a medium-sized town in the Kreis Mettmann district with around 26,000 inhabitants in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia — has created a format with HeiligenRock that transforms the city center into an open-air and pub festival once a year, attracting audiences from the Bergisches Land, the Ruhr area, and Düsseldorf.
The 2026 edition of HeiligenRock opens all nine stages simultaneously on Saturday, April 25, at 6:30 PM. Restaurants, bars, and open-air stages in the city center of Heiligenhaus provide the festival setting.
As in previous years, the program offers the established mix of three genres: Rock, Rockabilly, and Pop. The individual bands are announced each year in the run-up to the festival.
With a wristband (advance sale €18 via Neanderticket, box office €20), visitors can switch between the nine venues. The distances between the stages are short — the entire city center becomes the festival ground. Each stage hosts several acts consecutively, so no program is missed even when changing stages.
HeiligenRock is organized by Stadtmarketing Heiligenhaus. The participating venues provide their spaces and contribute to the programming — the format is explicitly conceived as a cooperative project between the city, gastronomy, and the music scene.
The exact band selection and venues will be announced in spring 2026 via stadtmarketing-heiligenhaus.de and Neanderticket.
