20 Years of Running & Music Festival

Twenty editions represent a considerable tradition for a regional sports and cultural format. The Harsefeld Running & Music Festival was launched in the mid-2000s and has since established itself as a signature event for Harsefeld. It is a fixed date in the Harsefeld event calendar, attracting runners and music lovers from the region between Stade and Hamburg.

Concept: Running + Music

The combined concept is the festival's hallmark. A classic fun run with multiple distance options for different age groups and performance levels forms the sporting core. Live bands playing various music genres — from rock and pop to jazz and folk, and classical brass ensembles — are positioned at several points along the running route. Runners thus traverse not only a scenic route but also a musical journey.

Various Distances

As with classic fun runs, multiple distances are offered to appeal to participants of all ages and performance levels — from toddler dashes for the youngest athletes and school/youth races to main events over typical fun run distances. The exact distances will be published by the organizer.

Live Music Along the Route

Several stages or music stations along the route provide musical accompaniment. Local and regional bands from the Harsefeld and Stade music scene perform. The genre spectrum is deliberately broad — from rocking sounds that provide energy for the run to calming music at rest stops.

Family Festival with a Festival Atmosphere

Beyond the race itself, a festival atmosphere develops along the route and in the start/finish area. Food stalls, drink bars, children's areas, and a festival site for the awards ceremony make the Running & Music Festival a family and community festival alike.

2026 Anniversary Edition

The 20th edition will be celebrated with a special program. Special distances, anniversary bands, or ceremonies honoring the 20-year history are possible — details will be published by the organizer in spring 2026.
