First Edition 2026 – Pop and Rave at Nuremberg Airport

Happy Life Open Air is a new summer festival, taking place for the first time in 2026 at Nuremberg Airport. Organizer Happy Life Events is hosting the open air event on Festival Grounds Parking Lot P31 – a closed-off area directly at the airport, conveniently accessible via the direct connection to the U-Bahn station "Flughafen". The festival is part of a small festival series that nordbayern.de refers to as "Festival Summer 2026 at Airport Nuremberg" – a new open-air location that enriches the city with an additional summer destination.

Musical Concept – Pop & Rave 90s/2000s

The focus is clearly on pop and rave from the 1990s and 2000s. Boyband and girl group pop meets Eurodance, Eurodisco, and continental trance. It's a festival for a generation that grew up with "Whole Again", "Daylight in Your Eyes", "Be My Lover", "Da Da Da", and "Sing It Back" – and for everyone who is rediscovering these sound worlds today.

The program for the first edition brings together some of the most famous pop and rave acts of the era:

• No Angels – German girl group legend, formerly Popstars 2000
• Atomic Kitten – British girl group, "Whole Again", "The Tide Is High"
• Alex Christensen – Co-founder of U96, producer of Right Said Fred and many 90s hits
• La Bouche feat. Natascha Wright – "Be My Lover", "Sweet Dreams"
• Culture Beat – "Mr. Vain", one of the most famous Eurodance acts
• Masterboy & Beatrix Delgado – Eurodance hit supplier of the 90s
• DJs: Aquagen, Da Hool, DJ Raw (fka Dune), DJ Quicksilver, Future Breeze, Niels van Gogh, Talla 2XLC

Nuremberg as a Growing Festival City

With over 500,000 inhabitants, Nuremberg is Bavaria's second-largest city after Munich and in summer 2026 will host a rich program with four new or established festivals: in addition to Happy Life around the airport, there's the Eskalation Festival, Rock im Park (on the Zeppelinfeld), and other formats – nordbayern.de spoke of the "Festival Summer 2026" in the Franconian metropolis. Thus, Nuremberg is transforming from a one-day festival city (long dominated by Rock im Park) into an independent summer festival city.

Logistics – Public Transport Recommended

The venue at Nuremberg Airport is directly accessible via U-Bahn line U2 (terminus "Flughafen"). The organizer explicitly recommends arriving by public transport – parking spaces (P30) are available only with advance online booking and are limited.
