About Beer Festival Hann. Münden

The Hann. Münden Beer Festival celebrates its 6th edition in 2026 and is one of the established beer festivals in the southern Lower Saxony region. From May 8th to 9th, 2026, the Dielengraben – the idyllic promenade between the Werra and Welfenschloss – will transform into a two-day beer mile with two renowned regional breweries: Mündener Ratsbrauhaus from Hann. Münden itself and Braumanufaktur Steckenpferd from Kassel. Both breweries stand for artisanal brewing and a conscious distinction from industrial mass production. Live music with Stromfrei on Friday and Feierklang on Saturday will round off the program. Starting daily from 4 PM.

Beer Festival with Profile

Since its first edition, the Hann. Münden Beer Festival has positioned itself as a small but distinguished beer festival. Instead of a wide variety of types with numerous breweries, the festival focuses on conscious selection: two regional breweries with an artisanal profile are given the space to present their beers in detail. This distinguishes the festival from the large beer festivals in the metropolises, which often prioritize quantity over quality.

Mündener Ratsbrauhaus

The Mündener Ratsbrauhaus is the city brewery of Hann. Münden and stands in the tradition of several hundred years of Münden brewing history. Artisanal production in smaller quantities, reference to historical recipes, and regional anchoring make the Ratsbrauhaus an authentic representative of the North German brewing tradition.

Braumanufaktur Steckenpferd Kassel

The Braumanufaktur Steckenpferd from Kassel is a modern craft beer brewery with an innovative range. IPA, Stout, Porter, Sour Beer, and experimental cuvées define its profile. The combination of the traditional Mündener Ratsbrauhaus and the modern Kassel manufactory creates an exciting spectrum at the festival, covering the entire range of contemporary brewing.

Location on the Dielengraben

The Dielengraben is one of Hann. Münden's most idyllic promenades. Located directly between the Werra and Welfenschloss, it offers a setting that combines water, architecture, and city history. On warm May days, when the Werra River reflects the sky and the Welfenschloss forms the backdrop, an atmosphere is created that makes the festival more than just a beer fair.

Live Music with Stromfrei and Feierklang

On Friday, May 8th, 2026, Stromfrei will perform – an acoustic band that lives up to its name and plays without amplifiers. On Saturday, May 9th, 2026, Feierklang will take the stage with a more festive, energetic program. The choice of bands suits the festival character: artisanal, with profile, without oversized stage shows.

Beer Festival Hann. Münden — edition 2026

The 6th Hann. Münden Beer Festival 2026 takes place on Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th, from 4 PM daily at the Dielengraben. Two regional breweries will present their beers: Mündener Ratsbrauhaus from Hann. Münden and Braumanufaktur Steckenpferd from Kassel. Live music on Friday with Stromfrei (acoustic), on Saturday with Feierklang (energetic sound). Idyllic location between the Werra and Welfenschloss. Free admission.

Since its inception, the Beer Festival has carved out a firm place in Hann. Münden's event calendar. The combination of two distinguished breweries, an idyllic location, and high-quality live music makes the festival a manageable yet atmospherically rich experience.

The pairing of Mündener Ratsbrauhaus and Kassel's Steckenpferd is programmatic: North German brewing tradition meets South German craft beer innovation on the Dielengraben. This spectrum allows visitors to taste both classic beer styles like Pils, Helles, and Weizen, as well as modern IPAs, Stouts, and experimental varieties.
