Open-Air Cinema in Volkspark Hasenheide – Three screenings daily from May to September
Freiluftkino Hasenheide is one of the key summer events in the Neukölln district: a classic open-air cinema right in the middle of Volkspark Hasenheide, bordering the Kreuzberg district. Nestled between playgrounds, a dog zone, and the historic water tower, the cinema offers evening screenings under the open sky from May onwards – attracting audiences from the immediate neighborhood and the entire city.
The 2026 season runs from May 21st to September 13th – with three screenings daily. Admission starts 30 minutes before the film begins. Tickets purchased online can be canceled up to 60 minutes before the screening starts.
In 2026, the cinema will have a clear focus on music films: from current concert films to open-air classics. The program includes films about the King of Rock'n'Roll Elvis and the King of Pop Michael Jackson, works about Jeff Buckley, and about John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Plus, audience favorites like Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, and classics from the music film canon. The program is rounded off by arthouse premieres, original versions with subtitles, and selected mainstream hits.
Freiluftkino Hasenheide is operated by timebandits GmbH & Co. Kinobetriebs KG, which also manages Freiluftkino Friedrichshain and Hackesche Höfe Kino in Berlin. The three venues combine program curation, film rights, and ticketing, and are among the defining players of Berlin's summer cinema season.
