First Advent in the Sauerland small town — craft stalls, Advent stage and Halver club life, November 27th to 29th, 2026
The Halveraner Christmas Market is one of the traditional, charmingly modest Christmas markets in the southern Märkischer Kreis — without tourist crowds, but with a warm atmosphere and established club life. The 38th edition will take place on the first Advent weekend, from Friday, November 27th to Sunday, November 29th, 2026.
Halver and external artisans present their products in the huts: wood carving, pottery, jewelry, textile art, Christmas decorations, small gifts. The quality is significantly above the level of purely tourist markets — Halver is known as an industrial and artisan town, which is reflected.
An important characteristic of the market: Halver clubs operate stalls — sports clubs, carnival clubs, scouts, church congregations, social initiatives. Here, members sell homemade items (cookies, liqueurs, jam), club merchandise, and collect donations for their projects. An authentic town festival character.
A small Advent stage presents a three-day program:
Classic Advent offerings: mulled wine, bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, candied almonds, fried dough, Sauerland specialties (Pannas, Mettwurst), Schmandkuchen from the local bakery.
Halver is located in the southern Märkischer Kreis, about 20 kilometers south of Hagen — an industrial and artisan town with around 16,000 inhabitants. Known for its mechanical engineering industry, metal processing, and strong club culture. The Christmas market represents the typical Sauerland lifestyle: down-to-earth, organic, honest.
The 38th edition of the Halveraner Christmas Market runs from November 27th to 29th, 2026. Organized by the town of Halver in cooperation with local clubs.
Free admission. Food and drinks directly at the stall.

Friday evening offers the most intimate atmosphere — market opening, school choir, first mulled wine. Saturday evening is the busiest. Sunday is more family-friendly with children's programs. If you're lucky, you'll hear dialect readings on stage — a classic of the southern Sauerland.
