Musical stage production between harbour work and romance
The Kulturmühle Berne is a restored historic mill that now serves as a versatile venue. Concerts, readings, theatre evenings, exhibitions, and workshops take place here. The non-profit association Kulturmühle Berne e.V. operates the venue and, with a dedicated team of volunteers, ensures a varied annual programme. The special architecture — with old mill beams, wooden elements, and a clear spatial concept — lends every event an intimate, almost magical atmosphere.
The HafenMusical “Harbour Work Meets Romance” picks up on the maritime roots of the Wesermarsch and tells stories of life in a harbour with songs, sketches, and short play scenes: from the daily lives of the workers to the longing of sailors to the great and small love stories on the quay. The music selection ranges from classic shanties and songs of harbour romance to modern songs with a maritime connection. The ensemble consists of actors from the region.
The HafenMusical is an example of cultural work that takes up regional themes and processes them into stage stories. It combines entertainment, a sense of home, and musical quality. For guests from the region, it is an occasion to experience a special evening at the Kulturmühle; for visitors from outside, it offers an insight into the cultural landscape of a small but very lively Wesermarsch town.
