45 Years of Hafenfest Barßel
In 2026, the Hafenfest Barßel celebrates its 45th edition, making it one of the most traditional summer festivals in the northern Cloppenburg district. The event is organized by the municipality of Barßel in cooperation with the Tourist-Info Barßel-Saterland and numerous local clubs and businesses. The venue is the Barßel Bootshafen on the Barßeler Tief, a navigable canal connecting the municipality with the North Sea coast.
Maritime Festival Mile
The festival mile stretches along the harbour promenade and offers a packed programme: Fish market with fresh catches and smoked goods, live music on several stages with bands from the region, water sports demonstrations (DLRG, water ski clubs, clubs from the surrounding area), boat parade and ship procession, exhibitions on maritime themes, arts and crafts, street food, and a children's carousel.
19th Barßeler Hafenfestlauf
On Saturday, the 19th Barßeler Hafenfestlauf will start – an established public run with various distances, marking the sporting component of the festival weekend.
Meeting Point for the Region
With tens of thousands of visitors over three days, the Hafenfest Barßel is one of the major summer events in the region between Oldenburg, Cloppenburg, and East Frisia.
