Large town and club festival with Sunday opening in the baroque old town of Hachenburg in the Westerwald district
The Hachenburg Summer Festival is one of the most popular town festivals in the northern Westerwald. For three days, the baroque old town of Hachenburg transforms into a lively festival ground with games, entertainment, music, and a rich gastronomic offer. On Sunday, the open shops in the city center also invite you for a stroll.
In 2026, the Summer Festival will be open from Sunday, July 5th to Tuesday, July 7th. On Sunday, the shops will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Wilhelmstraße. Admission and parking are free. The organizers are the Werbering Hachenburg and the City of Hachenburg.
Hachenburg, with its famous baroque old town around the Alter Markt, is one of the most beautiful small towns in Rhineland-Palatinate. The carefully restored city center with cobblestone alleys, historic townhouses, and the striking Hachenburg Castle offers a dreamlike backdrop for the annual Summer Festival.
The Hachenburg Summer Festival combines two concepts: It is a classic town festival with market stalls, gastronomy, and a stage program – and at the same time a club festival, where local clubs present themselves and participate. Sports clubs, cultural initiatives, social organizations, and carnival clubs are represented with their own stands, take over program segments, and organize interactive activities.
Three days of full program: Live music on various squares in the old town, entertainment for children and families, games and competitions, performances by local dance and sports groups. The spectrum ranges from classic stage acts and interactive activity stations to spontaneous performances in the alleys.
The highlight is the Sunday opening on July 5th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Wilhelmstraße. Hachenburg retailers will open their shops on this Sunday and invite you for a relaxed stroll. This combination of town festival and shopping makes the weekend particularly attractive for day-trippers from the entire northern Westerwald and the adjacent Eifel region.
The Summer Festival is free to enter. Parking in the designated parking areas on the outskirts of the city is also free. This generous policy makes the festival particularly family-friendly and regularly attracts thousands of visitors to the old town.
