In May 2026, the Gütersloh city center will transform into an open-air gallery for street art. The Gütersloher Frühling — In full bloom brings artists, food trucks, street music, and blooming city installations to a compact downtown route between Berliner Platz and Kolbeplatz. The organizer is Gütersloh Marketing, the city marketing company that curates the program annually.

May 2nd-3rd, 2026 — The Weekend of Bloom

The core weekend 'In full bloom' takes place on Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. The program:

• 12 street artists will work live on large-scale pieces in the squares and pedestrian zones — including 4 international artists and 3 new artists appearing in Gütersloh for the first time
• 2D murals and 3D street painting will emerge over the two days — the public can watch the artists at work
• Food trucks will offer street food variety — from burgers and bowls to vegan specialties
• Street music at several spots in the city center
• Sunday shopping on May 3rd from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM — the city center shops will open for a spring stroll
• Colorful round benches with XXL flower pot installations, photo opportunities, and activities for children and families

The May weekend is the highlight of a broader spring theme that Gütersloh Marketing is implementing in the city between March 19th and May 17th, 2026. Parts of the installations will remain visible in the city center during this period: floral decorations, seating, photo spots. Visitors to Gütersloh on other weekends will also experience a spring atmosphere outside the core weekend.

With the Gütersloher Frühling, the city has developed an unusual profile strategy: city marketing through street art.
