The German Punk Festival in the heart of Hamburg
For decades, the Docks at Spielbudenplatz 19 has been one of Hamburg's most important live venues for rock, metal, and punk. Located directly on the Reeperbahn, in the Hamburg-Mitte district and the St. Pauli neighborhood, the venue has shaped the sound of the Hanseatic city since the 1980s. Gott sei Punk utilizes this hall as well as the intimate Prinzenbar as a second stage — a festival format concentrated into one evening, making it particularly intense.
The lineup combines established giants of the German-speaking punk scene with emerging acts. Die Skeptiker (an East Berlin legend since 1986) meet newer bands like Bluthund and Die netten Jungs von nebenan. Sikk Likkz and Wisecracker deliver international punk rock, while BSK and Brutal Besoffen represent the German-speaking garage scene. The finale is traditionally crowned by Piy-Punkrock-Karaoke, where visitors can sing their favorite punk anthems with a live band.
Stylistically, the festival covers a broad spectrum: classic German-speaking punk rock (Die Skeptiker, Diggen & Rasta Knast), ska punk and melodic punk rock (Wisecracker), garage rock (BSK), more quirky acts in the punk cabaret genre (Ersatzkopf, Olli Bockmist), and finally Piy-Punkrock-Karaoke as an interactive element. This keeps the festival varied hour after hour.
The main stage in the Docks (capacity approx. 1500) hosts the larger acts, while the smaller Prinzenbar next door offers intimate sets from upcoming bands and the karaoke format. There's a direct passage between the two stages, allowing the audience to move fluidly between performances.
The audience is a mix of the established North German punk scene and a younger St. Pauli crowd that cherishes the genre as a vibrant part of Hamburg's subculture. Around 1000 visitors are expected — compact enough to create a genuine festival atmosphere in a single venue, without succumbing to the clichés of a large festival.
The organizers have confirmed both the date and the lineup. With 13 bands on two stages, it's the most packed German-speaking punk program of the Hamburg summer scene in 2026.
