For centuries, Frauenau in the Bavarian Forest has been a center of glassmaking art — and at the same time a central stop on the 250-kilometer-long Bavarian Glass Route, which leads from Neustadt an der Waldnaab to Passau through the historic glass landscape of Eastern Bavaria. Once a year, the Glass Route invites you to the grand Glasstraßenfest, which will be celebrated for the 18th time in 2026 in Frauenau's Gläserne Gärten. The event offers glass demonstrations, folk music, culinary specialties, and a lovingly curated market featuring the region's glassmakers.

The 18th Glasstraßenfest 2026 will take place on Sunday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Frauenau's Gläserne Gärten. Getting There

Via the B 11 (Deggendorf — Zwiesel — Bayerisch Eisenstein, exit in Regen) and state road 2132. Train travel to Frauenau (Waldbahn). Parking is signposted at the Gläserne Gärten and in the village.
