About Glääwischer Kerb
Glääwischer Kerb — edition 2026
The date of the Glääwischer Kerb follows a fixed rule: it is celebrated on the Sunday after May 19, the day of the patronage festival of the parish church of St. Marien, consecrated in 1974. However, if this Sunday coincides with Pentecost, the festival is postponed by one week. In 2026, May 19 is a Tuesday, and the following Sunday is May 24 – exactly Pentecost Sunday. Accordingly, the Kerb moves to the weekend of May 30 to June 1, 2026.
The program is organized jointly by the local clubs: the mayor taps the organic festival beer, the Glattbach Art Association presents the exhibition »Kunst und Kerb« in the school gymnasium, and there is a children's carousel and candied almonds for families. The detailed program for 2026 will be announced shortly by the municipality and the clubs.

A Village Fair with an Artistic Touch
Glattbach, a small community north of Aschaffenburg at the transition from the Untermain to the Spessart, celebrates its traditional Kirchweihfest with the Glääwischer Kerb. After a break of about fifteen years, the Kerb was brought back to life through the joint commitment of several local organizing groups and clubs – a festival entirely supported by the voluntary cohesion of the village community.
Art and Kerb Under One Roof
A special feature of the Glattbach Kerb is the combination of tradition and culture: The Glattbach Art Association e.V. participates with the exhibition »Kunst und Kerb« (Art and Kerb) in the school gymnasium, where active artists from the association display their works. Thus, the village festival becomes a meeting point that brings together the down-to-earth, traditionally Franconian-Hessian-influenced Kerb tradition with contemporary art.
Tradition on the Untermain
A fixed ritual includes the beer tapping ceremony by the mayor with organic festival beer, along with a children's carousel, candied almonds, and convivial gatherings with food and drink. The Glääwischer Kerb is an exemplary case of the vibrant club and festival culture of the Untermain communities.
