District fair with marquee and live music
The Gladbacher Kirmes now looks back on almost a decade with the concept introduced in 2017. With the change in organizational structure and the cooperation with Neuwied Musik as the gastronomic partner, the festival has experienced a noticeable upswing. Visitor numbers have grown continuously since the relaunch, so that the Kirmes is now recognized far beyond the district.
The marquee with its stage for live music is the centerpiece. Over the four days, bands and DJs perform, ensuring full dance floors with cover classics, party music, and regional acts. The program caters to different tastes – from hearty party music to rock cover sounds.
The culinary catering for guests is coordinated by Neuwied Musik. Classic fairground dishes – from bratwurst and schnitzel to potato pancakes and fries – are complemented by draft beer and a diverse range of drinks. The atmosphere in the marquee is typical of the classic Volksfest (folk festival) ambience cultivated in the Rhineland.
Today, the Kirmes is much more than just a local district fair. Guests from other Neuwied districts, from neighboring municipalities, and from the Westerwald travel for the weekends. The growing reach of the festival is also an expression of an active district culture in which associations, restaurateurs, and volunteers come together.
The 2026 edition continues the concept of previous years. Four days of marquee events in the Gladbach district, live music on the main evenings, a Sunday morning pint (Frühschoppen), and a relaxed conclusion on Monday are the typical highlights.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven highlights of previous years: opening on Friday, musical climax on Saturday, family program on Sunday with Frühschoppen, and a festive closing on Monday.
Exact dates, band lineup, and program details will be communicated via the city of Neuwied and Neuwied Musik.
The exact summer date for 2026 will be announced by the city of Neuwied and the organizers. Venue: Marquee in the Gladbach district, 56566 Neuwied.
Gladbach is a district of Neuwied and is accessible via the inner-city traffic routes. Traffic diversions will be in place during the Kirmes.
Admission to the marquee is usually free. Individual evening events with well-known bands may charge an entrance fee.
