The Nationalpark-Haus as a Venue
The Nationalpark-Haus Wangerooge is one of several information centers in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. Here, visitors are introduced to the world of the Wadden Sea: its unique flora and fauna, ecological interrelationships, and its UNESCO World Heritage status. The Summer Festival is the annual opportunity to present the house and its mission to a broad public.
Musical Entertainment
Throughout the day, local musicians and bands provide musical entertainment. The spectrum ranges from folk and acoustic music to Frisian sounds – fitting the nature-oriented character of the festival.
Culinary Highlights
The catering focuses on regional and sustainable specialties. Fresh fish rolls, Frisian beer, coffee, and cake from the island bakery – everything Wangerooge has to offer in terms of culinary delights is represented.
Program for All Ages
For children, there are hands-on stations focusing on the Wadden Sea's flora and fauna: touching and discovering, explorer workshops, and creative activities. Adults can participate in guided tours and lectures.
Wangerooge in High Summer
At the end of July, it's peak season on Wangerooge. The Summer Festival at the Nationalpark-Haus is a welcome change from a beach holiday and adds an intellectual accent to the island stay.
