Gerolsteiner Christmas Meet

The Gerolsteiner Christmas Meet at the Rondell is one of the central Advent events in the town of Gerolstein. Organized by GeroTeam e.V. – the downtown business association – the market takes place on the 3rd Advent weekend (December 12th/13th, 2026) and is part of the Vulkaneifel's busy Advent calendar.

Rondell as the Central Venue

The Rondell is a central square in the heart of Gerolstein, located between the town center and the Kyll river. With its open design and close proximity to shops and restaurants, it is ideally suited for markets and open-air events. In summer, it hosts the Rosenmontagsparty (KG Burgnarren), Heimat-Shoppen, and “Gerolstein lacht”; in winter, it becomes an atmospheric Advent square.

Program and Opening Hours

• Saturday, December 12th, 2026, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM: Opening in the morning, market activities until the evening, evening illumination.
• Sunday, December 13th, 2026, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Family Day, shorter opening hours.
• Parallel: Christmas Market at the Rondell from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (complementary stalls).

Arts and Crafts, Decorations, Gift Items

The focus of the Christmas Meet is on arts and crafts and gift items: handmade jewelry, floristry, Advent wreaths, wood carvings, pottery, knitwear, honey, jams, and winter decorations. The exhibitors are mainly from the Vulkaneifel and the wider Eifel region, giving the market an authentic regional character.

Gastronomy

Mulled wine (red, white, children's punch), Advent pastries, waffles, bratwurst, potato pancakes, candied almonds, schmalzbrote (lard bread), and soups form the gastronomic offerings. Various restaurants in Gerolstein's town center participate in providing food and drinks.

GeroTeam e.V. as Organizer

GeroTeam e.V. is the business association of Gerolstein's town center and organizes numerous events, including Heimat-Shoppen, “Gerolstein lacht,” and the Christmas Meet. The association's address, Bahnhofstr. 4, Gerolstein, is also the point of contact for information.

Gerolstein During Advent

Gerolstein in the Vulkaneifel is a tourist destination during Advent: hikes on the GeoPfad to the dolomite rocks, visits to the Erlöserkirche (Church of the Redeemer), and tasting the famous Gerolsteiner mineral water. The Christmas Meet is a welcome occasion to experience the town in a winter atmosphere.
